This visualization depicting the dates of death of artists represented in the MoMA collection is consistent with the critical art movements between the 1860s and the 1970s.
The increasing number of artists deaths up until the early 2000s indicates an end to past modern art movements and perhaps indicates more of an emphasis on certain time periods.
